Good morning/afternoon/evening where ever you are on this big beautiful globe. Can i take a minute to stop and tell you how beautiful and awesome you are? Yes you reading this blog post… you are phenomenal. Of all the people you could have been, you entered this chaotic beauty of a world called earth as you, giving yourself as a gift to the rest of us. Whether you believe or not, each and every one of us is a gift to the entire world and with how small our world is becoming with regards to accessibility, it is no surprise that a lot of things cut across the entire globe.
Lets talk about the ongoing celebration of the woman AKA International Women Month. This is a time celebrated-ish (i will explain the ish later)across the world in honor of the woman and womanhood. Just a few days ago, we had the official international women day celebration and just as much as i saw “happy International Women’s day” messages on my feed, i could not help but also realize how little attention was given to the particular celebration in general (this is why i added ish to the celebrated previously). At least compared to things like Christmas, valentines or even independence day.
If we are being honest with ourselves, we will realize that as important and as these other celebrations might be, women are the very axis on which the earth spins and as much as i think its a great initiative to set aside some time to celebrate womanhood, we ought to celebrate her every single day of the week, every week of the year and every year of our lives. If not for anything, we all came out of a woman. Even if you were one of those special babies who was cooked up in a tube, a woman was your incubator.
